All users of OpenIFS 40r1 should be aware that it will not be possible to generate initial data for this version of OpenIFS beyond March/2022. This is because ECMWF is porting only recent IFS cycles to its new HPC facility in Bologna and the existing HPC system in Reading will be shutdown.
Any users still using 40r1 should make sure they have submitted any requests to generate initial data well before this date. We encourage anyone who has not yet updated to OpenIFS 43r3 to do so.
Generation of initial data for OpenIFS 43r3 is not affected.
