I understood that output time resolution is at most 3 hours in CDS, and simulations can run with 5 minutes time steps. What is the trade-off between time resolution and projections reliability? In the sense of how much coarse can be the time steps in calculations.

Horizontal and temporal resolution in the models are not independent from one another. For time it is not common to provide model output at a time-step resolution. The data is typically aggregated and provided on pre-defined time interval (e.g. daily, hourly).

Thank you. Since not independent, what is their relation? Given the calculation effort how much we can relax the time step resolution without affecting too much the projection quality?
