Altimeter data in the Climate Data Store (CDS) are used by the wave data assimilation gridded onto the native wave model grid (for internal diagnostic purposes).
Users are encourage to use model data for wave heights, such as Significant wave height of combined wind waves and swell or any other wave model related parameters.
