The dataset is covering:

  • the period from 1 August 2018 until present for 2-days delayed test data (experiment 9701)
  • the period from 29 October 2018 until present for near real-time test data (experiment 9704)
  • the period from 1 December 2018 until present for near real-time production data with a land-sea mask applied (experiment 0010)

MARS

If you have access to ECMWF systems you can retrieve test data from MARS archive using keywords:

class=mc
expver=9701
stream=gfas
type=ga

Or the definitive production data, using keywords:

class=mc
expver=0010
stream=gfas
type=ga

FTP dissemination

The near real-time test data (9704) is already available through ECPDS FTP dissemination systems in this directory:

/DATA/CAMS_GFAS_HOURLY/

You can use your normal FTP account to access the data.

On the 22 January  2019, we will stop pushing test data (9704) to the  ECPDS FTP dissemination directory and start to push the production data (0010) to the same directory. This change will be almost transparent for users. The only noticeable differences will be:

  • Sea points in all fields will have value 0, as a land-sea mask will be applied to them.
  • Users retrieving grib files  will notice that attribute "experiment  Version Number" will be 0010 instead of 9704:
$ grib_ls -p experimentVersionNumber  z_cams_c_ecmf_201901100400_gfas_an_sfc_024_frpfire.grib
z_cams_c_ecmf_201901100400_gfas_an_sfc_024_frpfire.grib
experimentVersionNumber
9704
