Parameters forming part of the Weather and Geophysical Extremes Digital Twin (DT) are investigated here. See the encodings below, which are current for ecCodes 2.33.0.

Data availability

Currently only the fields in Secn 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 are available on the LUMI databridge as part of the first production-like ExtremesDT runs.

This is currently in class=rd,expver=i7yv,stream=oper,type=fc

Additional keys

Please note that additional keys are often necessary in addition to the base parameter definition below. For example for:

  • statistical processing (e.g. time interval of processing)
  • level information (e.g. a given pressure level, say 300 hPa)


Any entry with localTablesVersion=1 should not be used in production outside ECMWF.

    However, I wonder whether retrieving O8000 data using the polytope client instance currently hosted on the ECMWF infrastructure is still possible, as indicated here: SUMMIT 1.4 km NDJF seasonal run dataset: Example Polytope requests.
