  • Complete documented variable list that can be output by SURFEX, with documentation of output.
    • Ulf & team will iterate with Patrick (LeMoigne) on a complete variable list which they will then provide to us. This is very important - I hope you are able to provide this ASAP.
  • We need to support urban garden tiles which use pre-existing vegetation tile patches but need to be encoded differently.
    • Patrick will provide list of each of the garden vegetation types that are used along with how they are grouped.
  • We need to support parameters which are the average of a parameter over several tile types, e.g. "Nature" tile grouping. This will require some additional thought. Possibility to use a different UUID to distinguish this data.
    • We will have a brainstorming session here on how to do this. Will have an interactive session with Søren too to investigate this further.
  • How to support roof/road/wall temperatures and accumulated parameters.
    • For roof/road/wall layers we will add these as type of fixed surfaces to WMO tables so that they work in the same way as snow/soil levels. We will add a template to accommodate accumulated parameters.

We will communicate more in between, but next official meeting 11am CET . In particular, Ulf & co. are working on a grouped, documented example of SURFEX output. I will have a hands on session with Søren in the meantime.

The deadline is mid March to submit a proposal to WMO. We need to talk about other DE330 variables before then also.
