Can anyone tell how is the monthly Vertical integral of eastward water vapour flux calculated, please?

Is it calculated using monthly specific humidity and monthly u-wind? or from hourly specific humidity and hourly u-wind

(hourly eastward water vapour flux)? a equation will help a lot. Thanks
