Hi all,

Is the unit of monthly total precipitation m/day or total m? I have a doubt about the unit, because I see small values for my domain. I think I have to multiply by the number of day of each month in order to get monthly totals. I will be glad if you can clear it.

Thanks,

Tufan

  1. Hi Tufan,

the total precipitation in the ERA5 monthly averaged dataset is the monthly average amount in m per day.

Yes, if you want to get the monthly totals you have to multiply by the number of days of each month.

    1. Thank you very much Michela. So it is the same for potentail evaporation and evaporation as well, isn't it?

  2. Hi Tufan,

yes, all the hydrological parameters are in units of "m of water per day".
