We are pleased to inform you that the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) at ECMWF has made the first subset of its new high-resolution ERA5-Land dataset available through the Climate Data Store (CDS).

ERA5-Land is a global land-surface dataset at 9km resolution, consistent with atmospheric data from the ERA5 reanalysis. Initially covering the period 2001-present, ERA5-Land makes it possible, for instance, to reveal much greater detail in the soil temperature structure,  or to resolve lower temperatures in the peaks of the Alpine region by providing more accurate data.

Both hourly and monthly averaged ERA5-Land data, along with documentation, are now available from the Climate Data Store:

ERA5-Land hourly data from 2001 to present (https://cds.climate.copernicus.eu/cdsapp#!/dataset/reanalysis-era5-land?tab=overview)
ERA5-Land monthly averaged data from 2001 to present (https://cds.climate.copernicus.eu/cdsapp#!/dataset/reanalysis-era5-land-monthly-means?tab=overview)

If you have any questions about ERA5-Land, we invite you to visit the C3S User Forum (http://copernicus-support.ecmwf.int/forum) or email copernicus-support@ecmwf.int.

Yours sincerely,
ECMWF User Support
