On 23 March 2022, we announced that the Climate Data Store (CDS) successfully migrated to the ECMWF new Data Centre in Bologna, Italy.

Following migration, the CDS remained in test mode for a while to check that the service was fully operational from the ECMWF new data centre in Bologna.

The CDS team confirmed that the CDS is now fully operational from the ECMWF new data centre in Bologna, therefore ending the period at risk.

Should you encounter any issue on the CDS, please let us know (ECMWF login required). You may also check the status of the CDS at anytime on the ECMWF Service Status (where CDS is referred to as CopDS).

    1. Dear Anabelle,

I cannot access to cds.climate.copernicus.eu about week from Russia. Is there any country restriction from your side?

      Thank you!

  1. Update: The auto-download process in the CDS API scripts is now functioning correctly.

    Dear CDS Support Team:

The new server functionality from Bologna was working flawlessly until a few hours ago. Currently, my CDS API scripts run and the requests successfully complete on the server as usual, but the process now fails at the point of  downloading the requested file.

    The timeout error message is:

    ---

The requested file that was created from the CDS API script is actually available on the CDS portal, and I can see it there online, but it no longer downloads automatically. The download process of the script abruptly ceased a few hours ago. Now it hangs before starting the download process. I've cleared all caches in Linux, but the problem persists. Perhaps this is a temporary artifact of the testing mode that you mentioned, but I want to verify that with you. Thank you!

    Kind regards,
    Joseph
