We are pleased to announce that high-resolution gridded temperature and precipitation observations from a selection of sources have been published in the Climate Data Store (CDS):

Temperature and precipitation gridded data for global and regional domains derived from in-situ and satellite observations


Additionally the dataset contains daily global average near-surface temperature anomalies. All fields are defined on either daily or monthly frequency. The datasets are regularly updated to incorporate recent observations.


This dataset may now be downloaded from the Climate Data Store either interactively using the CDS web interface ("Download data") or programmatically using the CDS API service. The data is also Toolbox compatible.
