How is the variable Low Cloud Cover calculated in ERA5? I guess it is done with maximum-random-overlap but there is only a hint in the description there are made assumptions about overlaps.

Hi Raffael,
From ERA5: data documentation there is a link to the definition of Low cloud cover.
You will also find detailed information in the model documentation; for ERA5, the IFS documentation for CY41R2 should be used.
