Hi All,

Since yesterday (01 Dec 2021) I encountered an issue when using ERA5 daily web app (https://cds.climate.copernicus.eu/cdsapp#!/software/app-c3s-daily-era5-statistics?tab=app): for T2m daily_minimum, the web ran into the persistent "pending" status when the two months data were requested: 1953-09 and 2004-10, while other months were all working well.

Could you please help with that?

Best,

Ting

Yes, things are working now: great!

    2. Hi Kevin,

I'm running a similar again but for `total_precipitation` of the first several months of 1950; please see the attached screenshot below:

Could you please help with this?

      Many thanks!

      Ting

  2. Hi Ting, the issue for total precipitation for January 1950 is fixed now and my test worked ok!

    Thanks,

    Kevin

    1. Hi Kevin,

Your prompt response is really appreciated!

      1950-01 does work now!

However, there are more months for which the issue persists.

Based on my attempts, please see below an incomplete list of problematic months for `total_precipitation` with respect to `daily_mean`.

      Many thanks!

      Ting

I just tried a few of these dates and they are working now!

    Thanks,

    Kevin

    1. Hi Kevin,

      Thanks for the follow-up!

I just tried the first several in 1950, which, however, are still not working for me.

I'm trying out the remaining and will post a full list here once done.

      Best,

      Ting

  4. Hi Kevin,

I just tried this again and the issue still persists.

Could you please help with that?

    Many thanks!

    Ting

  5. Hi Ting Sun ,

The GUI application is not the best option for doing this batch approach of downloading the data, you should follow the instructions for "Batch processing via the cdsapi" on page 11 of the user guide:
    https://datastore.copernicus-climate.eu/documents/app-c3s-daily-era5-statistics/C3S_Application-Documentation_ERA5-daily-statistics-v2.pdf

The CDS only has 20 slots for public applications, and your use of this application is frequently using most of the slots, which is why you are getting pending so often. This is also affect the performace of the application for other users, so we would greatly appreciate it if you started to use the cdsapi approach.

    Thanks,

    Eddy (CDS Team)

    1. Thanks Edward Comyn-Platt for the follow-up and the guide!

I did try both methods to get the data and will switch to the CDS API for future cases.

      Best,

      Ting
